OSPA, Gran Reserva 91
Friday 29 April, 20:00 . Auditorio de Oviedo, Subscription Concert No. 11: OSPA , Ari Rasilainen (director). Works by Glinka , Tchaikovsky and Sibelius . Asturias has to feel
proud to have an orchestra that twenty years ago few were betting on it. And is that because the wine must be patient and work hard to get crops "Gran Reserva". There are good strains, the most suitable climate, and the winemakers who know this, they have got the best wine after Thursday menu. He was returning to the OSPA
eight years after the Finnish director Ari Rasilainen ( but was in Oviedo in January 2009 with the Orchestra of Castilla and Leon in a monograph of Finland ), then a November 21, 2003 with first part Grieg: Holberg Suite the and Piano Concerto with Carmen Yepes solo more The Third of Sibelius after the break. The memory that we both had that first visit still maintain, after what was heard in this last concert abrileño, I think Asturias and not forget.
This time the choice was "fully coaster, taking his compatriot Sibelius as such (and I have a CD with Kullervo directing him in 2005 to Staatsphilarmonie Rheinland-Pfalz -Orchestra Rhineland-Palatinate with the male choir KYL), as the common history is there, the conflict between Russia and Finland gave many laps in time. The program review was not for the new candidate to the ownership of all Asturian orchestra, but for their own education. Finally another evening was warmly Nordic . First test
nothing less than the opening of RUSSLAN and Ludmilla (Glinka ) heard not long ago, but light speed without going , listen to everything written in this Home work great, fortissimo and agile scales could try to detail despite the demands you have for everyone. The
Suite No. 4 in G M., Op 61 "Mozartiana" ( Tchaikovsky) is a jewel as to direct homage to the Russian makes his genius admired, well explained in the program notes by Professor Neil Barrena de la Rua , my "Ne-Re." The five movements which were at best, enjoying very much (and by recent connotations ) of III. Preghiera on the "Ave Verum Corpus K. 618 where after the brief intervention of wood, rope our love to all choir directors always sounded perfectly with the rest plaster, and the last movement Theme and variations, with special solos of Vasiliev in IX variation, always delicate and artistazo, clarinet playing Andreas brimming and safer, the "forgotten" glockenspiel of Casanova "Dalaipercu" I do want to mention here.
And if it was shot, the best was yet to come. Rasilainen found that "Sibelius's language is in the OSPA" , plus plenty of emotion (as Ramón Avello said the concert Avilés). The M. Second Symphony in D, Op 43 compositions will end the "romantic" but recognize that it is original and requires a sound that managed Finnish director of our orchestra. My friend David Revilla have enjoyed with this interpretation (which he recorded Classical Radio for later broadcast) from eleven black rope start to great final crescendo, because you can not hassling and the end result was perfect.
section to section giving all the musicians responded with a clear direction, accurate, nothing flashy but totally efficient, and that's it. I think when it works well and we like to rediscover the best of our training. The character of
fully pastoral Allegretto was achieved with a wind always backed by a strong rope. The Tempo andante, ma rubato was a new pleasure in the rope and a pair of bassoons overwhelming, led from the podium with knowledge be that amazed. Even in the Vivacissimo could enjoy the "simple" composition, the changing environment of the pastoral to the stormy, how fast to slow, with an intensity that our OSPA accomplished as any to finish in the four melodic themes and the great crescendo does not seem to finish and close the circle of a symphonic impressive. Congratulations to Finnish sommelier Rasilainen you've removed all the flavors in the mouth / ear to the Spaniard came first.
OSPA is only changing the lyrics of the tango "that 20 years is nothing" because without forgetting the previous bands that led to the present and all the teachers who went through the podium, this time and working together is much reason to head our OSPA, Gran Reserva from 91 .
